In honor of Dr. Seuss, March 2, is also NEA’s Read Across America celebration of reading. “an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading”
We started off our own celebration today by reading The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham. Then we ATE green eggs and ham for breakfast!
After breakfast the kids sat down and wrote their own rhymes.

and I broke my tooth!

Before snack time we read One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish and then had a Dr. Seuss themed snack.
Celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday was the perfect way for to learn more about one of our favorite authors and also a good way to get them excited about reading!
If you never did, you should. These things are fun, and fun is good.
