It's a Halloween miracle, Charlie Brown! Houston is finally potty trained :) This is the first time in 10 years That we haven't had one of our kids in diaper!!
Just when I started thinking I may be sending the boy to his first day at work in a diaper, he finally decided he'd give the whole potty thing a try. His 3rd birthday is on November 5th and I was determined to have him trained by that milestone (just like the other 3) but for a while the kid wouldn't even sit on the potty let alone make any kind of deposit!
We tried all the tricks in the book. He turned down candy, Chuck E Cheese, a pony (yes I said I'd buy him a pony), anything if it meant that he had to go near a toilet.
What finally did the trick? I bought him a present (a stuffed Tuck from Wonder Pets) and told him he couldn't open it until he sat on the potty, and that was it!
It finally "clicked" just like all the little old ladies said it would! (Even the one who told me her child was potty trained by 6 months).
So that's that. After that one day he's a pro! He still wears a pull-up at night, but I think he looks so stinking cute walking around the house in his little undies. He randomly pulled down his pants a few times at church to show people, so I think he likes them too. Either that or he was just trying to flash sister P.
Awe, he winks! So cute! I might kill Ryan, we are coming up on b-day number four and he still refuses to poop on the toilet:-/ Peeing is no problem, but pooping is another story. I'm at my whits end!!
